Man shot dead in Abudwaq town, assailant nabbed by police

GOOBJOOG NEWS|ABUDWAQ: A man identified as Bare Ali Maax was shot dead by an assailant in Waberi neighborhood of Abudwaq district in northern Galgadud region.

Bare Ali Maax was gunned down by the assailant who escaped after committing the heinous act. However, Abudwaq security forces who had been alerted about the shooting, immediately sprung into action and were able to nab the killer a few minutes later.

A security official from the town said that they are holding the assailant identified as Abdulkadir Ali Muse and would take him to court soon to answer to murder charges.

Abudwaq security forces did not immediately reveal the motive behind the killing of the civilian, but reports indicate that the incident may have been sparked by clan conflict in the district of Abudwaq and the surrounding areas.
