Measles outbreak kills seven children in Jamee’o village of Bal’aad district
Least eight children were confirmed dead due to measles outbreak in Bal’aad district as confirmed by the administration of that district
The district commissioner of Balad, Mohamed Mohamud Saney told Goobjoog FM that the outbreak has affected many people mostly children in Balad district and surrounding areas.
“The disease killed eight children in Jamee’o village and more than that are suffering from the measles” Mr Saney said.
He added that the village does not have health care centres to treat the patients and that they sent statement to the federal government of Somalia several times but no fruitful results came out.
The chairman noted that if immediate action to contain the outbreak is not taken it might spread to other areas in the region with no proper health care.
