Ministers’ council donates October salaries to support war against Al-shabaab
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: In show of their solidarity with the National Armed Forces in their war against the Al-shabaab militants, the Council of Ministers said it will donate their October salaries to support the forces in their offensive.
This was announced by the government spokesperson Farhan Mohamed Jimale after the weekly ministers’ council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre in Mogadishu Thursday.
“During the weekly Cabinet meeting of the Federal Republic of Somala which was chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, the ministers resolved to donate this month’s salaries to support the ongoing offensive by the armed forces aimed at eliminating the threat posed by the Al-shabaab militants,” the spokesman said.
He said the decision was made as a way of motivating the forces who are fighting to liberate the country from decades long security challenges posed by the Al-qaeda linked terror group.
During the meeting, the council of ministers also received a briefing on the ongoing war against the militants in various regions of the country.
