Ministers’ council passes resolution to strengthen financial management

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia Council of Ministers have passed the resolution to strengthen the Transparency of the Country’s Financial Management.

The resolution contains eight articles based on the management of finances, the country’s income, management of national assets as well as administration and personnel management.

Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre while presiding over the meeting said the resolution is crucial for the protection of public property, fight corruption and ensuring national resources are managed well to serve public interest.

The Council of Ministers also passed the Civil Service Retirement Bill and the Civil Service Retirement policy which will protect the rights of retired government employees and ensure those injured while serving the nation are well taken care of under the Labor and Social Affairs ministry.

The council at the same time approved the Memorandum of Understanding between the Somali Government and Qatar which will see the two countries collaborate in the health and employment sectors and also approved the National Youth Policy as proposed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
