Mogadishu Former Mayor “Road Closures Is Not the Answer for Insecurity”
Mohamoud Ahmed Nour (Tarzan) the former mayor of Mogadishu believes that road closures when foreign dignitaries visit the country is a bad idea and is not the answer for the insecurity.
He told Goobjoog that when he was the mayor, he never allowed roads to be closed for whatever purpose.
“We even declined to agree with the United Nations when they requested road closures, I can tell you that barriers would not stop the insecurity” he says.
He claims that there are people with certain political agenda and that is to portray Mogadishu in bad image.
“There is enough security in the capital, but they want to portray Mogadishu in bad image, so that foreign embassies would move to the regional capitals” says Tarzan who is also the chairman of new political party.
