National University dons on strike over delayed pay

Somali National University lecturers Saturday downed their tools over delayed pay which they say now runs into the fifth month.
The lecturers at the Hamarweyne Campus said the resorted to strike after efforts at getting their grievances addressed did not bear fruit.
“We have not been paid for the last five months and we are not going back to class until we are paid,” one of the lecturers who sought anonymity told Goobjoog News.
The university administration had not responded to the claims by the time of publishing this story.
The university re-opened its doors in 2014 after over 25 years since it closed following the start of civil war in 1991.
