Newly appointed national security minister resumes office
Newly appointed national security minister of federal government of Somalia col. Khalif Ereg resumed office today in a well organized ceremony held in Mogadishu.
Speaking during the ceremony col. Khalif said that he will vigorously work to secure the country from security threats
The minister promised that Al-shabab members will not freed from the custodies and added that every individual who is found guilty will face justice.
The serving defense minister Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Haamud was the acting national security minister after the former minister Abdikarim Hussein Guleed stepped down due to deadly attacks on federal parliament of Somalia on 24th May this year claimed by Al-shabab.
The appointment of the minister came immediately after Al-shabab for the second time carried attack on Somali presidential palace, Villa Somalia.
Ereg was the former head of national security intelligence of Banadir region.
