NISA Arrests Key Suspects Behind SYL Hotel Attack

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has arrested 16 suspects believed to have been involved in the terrorist attack at the SYL hotel in Mogadishu on March 14th.

According to a statement released by the Somali government, the detained suspects includes the alleged mastermind Abdinasir Dahir, who is accused of facilitating the smuggling of vehicles used in the attack.

Other suspects arrested are persons registered as owners of the vehicles and five soldiers who were supposed to be manning the checkpoint through which the vehicles passed, who were accused of security negligence.

The attack on the SYL Hotel, carried out by Al-Shabaab militants, resulted in the tragic loss of at least four lives and left more than 40 others injured.

The Somali government, through NISA, has vowed to provide full evidence and pursue legal action against all individuals involved in the planning and execution of the attack.
