Parliament speaker hold talks with new UN envoy to Somalia

The speaker of the Somali parliament, Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman has yesterday hosted the special envoy to the United Nations Secretary-General for Somalia, Nicholas Haysom and his Special Assistant to his office.

Mr Mohamed Mursal the speaker of Somali parliament and new UN Special Envoy to Somalia Nicholas Haysom have discussed on several related issues as well on how to the to support the legislation of the parliament.

The two sides also discussed how they can cooperate on also help on how the country will proceed to “one person, one vote” elections in 2020.

Mohamed Mursal congratulated Nicholas Haysom the new UN special envoy for Somalia and expressed his hope for a solid working relationship between the house of the parliament and United Nations agencies in the country.

The UN Special Envoy to Somalia Nicholas Haysom was also yesterday hosted by the Senate leaders at the Senate building in Mogadishu.
