PHOTOS: SNA gather forces, weapons ahead of offensive in Galgadud

GOOBJOOG NEWS|DHUSAMAREB: The build-up for a new offensive against Al-Shabaab is intensifying in Galmudug state as security forces gather in different parts of the state.

On the outskirts of Dhusamareb on Friday, security chiefs displayed military ware and soldiers armed with different types of weapons ahead of the offensive.

The soldiers were drawn from the 21st Division of the National Armed Forces alongside clan militia.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is currently in Dhusamareb where he is expected to visit newly liberated areas and inspire support for the soldiers.

The Somali National Army and clan militia are expected to complete the remaining part one of the phase one of the operations covering parts of Galgagadud state ahead of the second phase which moves to South West and Jubaland states.
