Plane carrying relief aid lands in Aden Adde Airport from UAE
GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: A plane carrying humanitarian aid for the drought-hit Somali People has landed at the Aden Adde International Airport from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Ready to receive the donation were Somali government officials led by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Khadija Diriye.
The government officials thanked the UAE government for the generous gesture extended to the Somali People especially now that nearly 90 percent of the country is facing severe water shortages leaving 3.5 million people in extreme hunger after the driest season in 40 years.
Today’s donation comes barely a week since the UAE promised to support Somalia in terms of humanitarian aid following a meeting between Prime Minister Roble and officials from aid agencies in the Arab Country.
