PM Barre Urges COP 29 Ministerial Committee to Develop Concrete Frameworks Ahead of Global Conference in Azerbaijan

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Hamze Barre today chaired a ministerial committee meeting tasked with preparing the country for the upcoming COP 29 conference later in the year.

The PM urged the committee to work with other arms of government to come up with concrete plans and strategies to ensure the country presents a strong case during the global environmental conference.

In particular, the PM urged the committee to develop a strong framework on how climate change is affecting Somalia and proposals for mitigations ahead of the summit.

The Conference of Parties 29 (COP29) will be held between November 11 and 22 in the Azerbaijani city of Baku.
