PM Roble reportedly calls for delay of seat 86 elections eyed by Fahad Yassin
GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: Reports have surfaced that Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has called for the postponement of the election for a seat being contested by National Security Advisor Fahad Yasin under unclear circumstances.
Prime Minister Roble reportedly summoned the chairman of the FederalIndirect Elections Team (FIET Muse Guelleh Yusuf, and directed that the election of HOP086 be postponed until some issues are sorted out.
The current occupant of the seat, former Somali Justice Minister, Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, is currently out of the country on medical leave. The elections are slated for next week in Beletweyne.
Members of the Electoral Commission who did not want to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter told BBC Somali Service that Roble did not specify why he took the particular stance but it is clear that Prime Minister Roble and Fahad have not been seeing eye to eye since the Ikran Tahlil issue arose.
Seat 086, currently eyed by Farmaajo’s National security advisor Fahad Yassin who was widely accused of being behind the kidnap and subsequent disappearance of NISA’s female spy agent, Ikran Tahlil, is poised to take the seat with the backing Villa Somalia.
