Police Chief Visits Stations in Mogadishu Following Bomb Attack

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Police Commissioner Brigadier General Asad Osman Diano visited various police stations in Mogadishu Saturday night following a recent bomb attack at police headquarters in the city.

Brigadier Diano visited police stations in Karaan, Yaqshid, Abdicasis, and Hamarweyne in addition to the police headquarters.

According to a statement from police headquarters, Diano’s visit aimed at assessing the operations of the stations and collaboration with the local communities.

“The purpose of the Commissioner’s inspection was to closely observe the activities of the police stations for the community, to ensure the smooth running of the security operations and that the police services are efficiently provided to the local community,” the statement read in part.

At least 10 people were killed last week when a suicide bomber blew up at a restaurant at the Police Academy in Mogadishu.
