President Framajo to meet Djibouti counterpart to discuss regional issues
A delegation led by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has yesterday evening arrived in the capital Djibouti for an official visit.
The president and his team were given a state welcome by the prime minister of Djibouti Abdiqadir Kamil Mohamed, minister for foreign affairs, minister for telecommunication, and members of the parliament of Djibouti.
The president of Somalia is today expected to meet with his counterpart the president of Djibouti Ismaïl Omar Gelle to discuss a range of issues including regional security, regional politics, economic partnerships and issues of mutual interest.
Djibouti is considered by a brotherly nation by Somalia and over the past years, they have contributed immensely on state-building and maintaining peace through contributing to the peacekeeping force in Somalia.
The current visit is due to strong ties between the friendly nations and will seek to address issues facing the region from a united perspective.
The president was accompanied by the minister for telecommunication Abdi Anshur Hassan and the director-general of the state house of Somalia Dr Noor Diriye Hirsi.
