President Hassan meets his French counterpart in Paris

French President, François Hollande, has received the president of the republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in his office.

The two presidents discussed wide range issues including cooperation between the two nations in the fields of security, development and defense.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked French government for its tireless efforts to safeguard the unity of Somali people and its solidarity to back federal government in the fight against Al-shabab.

It is the first official visit of Somali president to France since the Central government led by late Mohamed Siad Barre was overthrown 1991.
