The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met the Special Representative of the chairperson of African Union Commission for Somalia, Ambassador Maman Sidikou in his office on Saturday.
President Hassan and Mr. Maman Sidikou discussed wide range issues including security and speeding up the operations against Al-Shabab.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of federal government Abdirahman Duale Beilah.
Somalia foreign minister Abdirahman Duale Beilah and Special Representative of the chairperson of African Union Commission Ambassador Maman Sidikou held joint press conference after the meeting to substantiate the points discussed during the meeting.
Mr. Beilah while briefing the media said the new African Union envoy will replace the former ambassador to advance the fight against Al-shabab.
The ambassador said he is pleased to come to Somalia and meet president Hassan Sheikh in the presidential palace, he is officially resuming office to replace the former African Union envoy Mohamed Salah Annadif.
