President Mohamud arrives in Algeria for the 31st Arab League Summit

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, left last night for Algeria, where he will attend the summit of Arab countries.

On his trip to Algeria, the president went en route to Sudan, where he met with the Sudanese Minister of Defence, Major General Yassin Ibrahim Yassin, where they discussed security issues affecting the Horn of Africa region.

President Mohamud is expected to meet other Arab leaders in the Algerian capital on Tuesday for their first summit since a string of normalisation deals with Israel that have divided the region.
