President Mohamud Arrives in Kenya on Official Visit Aimd at Strengthening Bilateral Ties

GOOBJOOG NEWS | NAIROBI: Federal Government of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is in Nairobi, Kenya for a one day official visit.

According to Somali Presidential Palace spokesperson Abdirahman Hudeyfi the president is scheduled to hold key bilateral talks with his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto.

Among the issues to be discussed by the two leaders includes ways to enhance cooperation in trade and the fight against terrorism.

The two leaders will also engage in talks about the controversial Memorandum of Understanding between Somaliland and Ethiopia which Somalia said was a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Kenya has been among countries which have been involved in diplomatic efforts to ease tension between Somalia and Ethiopia which was caused by the MoU.
