President Mohamud Attends Graduation of Army Recruits in Galmudug
GOOBJOOG NEWS | XANANBUURE: Federal government of Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has attended the graduation of Somali National Army units in Xananbuure, Galmudug, following nearly a year of basic military training.
The ceremony brought together senior federal and Galmudug officials, including Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor, Defence Minister, Public Works Minister, the Somali National Army commander and senior officers from the 21st Division.
Presiednt Mohamud congratulated the newly trained soldiers as Somalia continues efforts to expand and professionalise its national security forces.
Qoorqoor also congratulated the recruits and praised their commitment throughout the lengthy training programme, saying Galmudug would continue supporting efforts to build a stronger Somali National Army.
The graduation comes as the federal government seeks to increase the capacity of Somali forces to take greater responsibility for national security as international military support is gradually restructured.
Members of the Federal Parliament and other military officials also attended the ceremony.
The training and graduation of new army units are part of broader efforts to build a capable national force able to lead security operations and consolidate state authority across Somalia.
