GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal government of Somalia president Friday urged the Somali National Army officers to put their country first and perform their duties diligently.

Speaking while officiating a pass out ceremony for newly trained officers at the Turksom school in Mogadishu, the president reminded the officers of the crucial role they are set to undertake as they get deployed to various ranks of the Somali National Armed Forces.

“The greatest gift one can give to their country is their life—the ultimate sacrifice. You are willing to lay down your lives for Somalia and its people. We are at war with an immoral and narrow-minded enemy,” the president said while addressing the newly commissioned officers.

President Mohamud expressed gratitude to the Turkish Government and its President for their substantial contributions to the establishment of the Somali Government.

He presented certificates and awards to the 6th batch of officers who underwent rigorous training over a period of three years.

The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Defense, Abdiqadir Mohamed Noor, as well as General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuddin, the Commander of the Armed Forces, and other dignitaries. Notably, the graduating officers represent various branches of the military, including the navy, land forces, and air forces.

The event marks a pivotal moment in Somalia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its armed forces and enhance national security.
