GOOBJOOG NEWS | GALINSOOR: Federal government of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has urged residents of Galinsoor to protect peace and community cohesion as he continued a tour of Galmudug focused on security and local development.

Addressing residents at a public gathering, President Mohamud, accompanied by Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Karie, called for continued efforts to maintain security, stability and peaceful coexistence, stressing the importance of Galinsoor remaining a safe place for communities living in the area.

The visit is part of a broader tour of Galmudug by president Mohamud, who has travelled through several towns in recent days to assess security conditions, meet local communities and highlight federal efforts to extend government services and strengthen state institutions.

The president’s visit comes as Somalia seeks to strengthen the role of its national security forces and local administrations in central Somalia, where Al-Shabaab remains a major security threat.

President Mohamud has repeatedly called for closer cooperation between communities and security forces in the fight against the militant group, while urging residents to support efforts aimed at maintaining stability in areas where government authority has expanded.

His journey through Galmudug has included visits to Dhuusamareeb, Xananbuure, Godinlabe and Cadaado, with the president also attending the graduation of Somali National Army units trained in Galmudug.

The tour combines security engagements with meetings with local communities and the inauguration of development projects, reflecting the government’s stated effort to link improved security with reconstruction and the expansion of public services.
