President Mohamud visits Somali soldiers training in Turkey

GOOBJOOG NEWS|ANKARA: The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud visited the Turkish Commandos Training School in Isparta, where thousands of Somali Commandos have been trained.

A statement by President Mohamud thanked Turkey for its “valuable security assistance,” noting that the training provided to the Somali youth has produced “great future Somali military officers and leaders.”

“I visited our brave soldiers undergoing commando training in Isparta, Turkey, with the assistance of the Turkish government. I met some great future Somali military officers and leaders and I am proud of them all. We are grateful to Türkiye for this valuable security assistance,” read a statement by the Somali president. 

The President spoke with Somali officers and soldiers undergoing training at the Isparta Commandos School and reminded them of the critical role awaiting them at home, which is to defend their country and protect the Somali people.
