Prime Minister Hamza meets the Somali Shilling reprinting Committee

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has initiated plans to reinstate the Somali Shilling as a way of tackling inflation in the country.

While meeting the Somali shilling reprinting committee the prime minister shared the financial plans of the government with the committee, with the process of taking the central bank’s branches to the Federal Member States.

The Committee also briefed the PM on the process of the new Shilling the country, the challenges they are facing, and ways to move forward so that the country takes the new Shilling.

The meeting also discussed the Somali Shilling, which was printed in Sudan, the starting of the branches of the central bank in the Member States and plans of reprinting the Somali Shilling.
