Prominent elder killed in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Unknown people have shot and killed a prominent elder outside his house this morning in Mogadishu’s Bar-Ubah neighborhood.

Warsame Ismail is said to have been approached by people armed with pistols, who fired several rounds at him before fleeing the scene.

According to reports, Warsame is said to have been among the elders tasked with the election of the current National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) boss Mahad Salad, in Dhusamareb.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the assassination of the late Warsame, but Al-Shabaab has been known for taking credit for the killing of peace activists and elders who participate in electing parliamentarians not in their favour.
