Prominent peacekeeper shot and killed in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A prominent peacekeeper from the region of Hiran was last night shot and killed in Mogadishu’s Dharkenley district by unknown gunmen.

Reports say Abdullahi Nur Garad Seefle, one of the peacekeepers of Besha Hawadale, was shot several times in the upper body by the armed men who immediately fled the scene after committing the heinous act.

According to one of the governors of the Hiran region who spoke to the media, Elder Seefle was killed by members of Al-Shabaab, although the claims are yet to be verified independently.

The killing of the peacekeeper comes just a week after another peacekeeper from Yaqshid’s Hawadle community, known as Hussein Hayow Halane, was killed in a similar version.
