Puntland forces takeover Galgala area

Puntland security forces have taken over Galgala area, the gateway to Golis mountains after heavy clashes with Al-shabab that have been controlling area for long.

The exact number of casualties resulted from the clashes is not clearly known but sources confirm that over 10 people were killed in the area.

Puntland leaders are expected to hold press conference and explain in details the clashes in Galgala area.

The middle of this the commander of Puntland forces in Galgala was killed after armed men suspected of Al-shabab members ambushed him.

On the other hand Sheikh Mohamed Said Atam, the head of Al-shabab group in galgala has surrendered to federal government of Somalia.
