Puntland loses two lawmakers less than a month
Unknown gunmen killed Puntland parliamentarian Saeed Hussein Noor Dirir on Friday evening in Galkayo town of semi-autonomous regional; state of Puntland.
Reports indicate that the late regional MP was gun down as he stepped out of a mosque after dust prayer “Maghreb”
Eyewitness near the incident confirmed to Goobjoog News that the gun shot followed by two hand grenade explosions which created mayhem among the public close to the scene.
“The assailant sneaked from the crime scene after hurled two hand grenades at the people the place where the gunmen killed the MP” said the witness.
It was only 18th April when unidentified assailants in car killed Puntland lawmaker Adan Hajji Hussein in drive-by shooting in Mogadishu.
Nobody claimed responsibility for the pre-planned shooting but as has been the case Al-Shabaab targets government officials and foreigners in broad day light attacks.
