Qoorqoor meets FIET team ahead of Senate list release

GOOBJOOG NEWS|DHUSAMAREB: Galmudug President Ahmed Qoorqoor met with members of the Federal Electoral Implementation Committee, the Galmudug Electoral Commission and members of the Dispute Resolution Committee at the Presidential Palace Monday night.

The members had visited Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug, and discussed issues surrounding the hastening of Upper House elections scheduled for this week in Galmudug.

Qoorqoor is expected to submit a list of candidates for the Upper House in the coming days. The Galmudug State Indirect Elections Team (SIET) last week wrote to Qoorqoor urging him to release the much awaited senate candidates’ list.

Galmudug is one of the Senate battlegrounds to watch in the upcoming race. Notable figures include outgoing senate deputy speaker Abshir Ahmad, former president Ahmed Haaf and senator Abdi Qebydiid.
