Rains Fall in “Thirsty” Villages in Hiran

Residents of draught stricken villages of Tedan, Maqokori, Alula and Bukuri, all are all under the Mahas district of Hiran have expressed joy and hope after receiving substantial amount of rain falls.
They include some of the worst hit areas by water shortages and have been surviving on water trucking, which was very expensive exercise.
One of the residents who spoke to Goobjoog said that they are now fetching water from ponds and shallow places in the area.
These rains are due to the arrival of spring season which often comes on this month of much.
