Roble meets with interim Speakers of both chambers

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble held a private meeting Friday night with the two interim Speakers of the new Federal parliament of Somalia.

Roble discussed with the acting Speakers of both the Lower and Upper House of the new parliament finalization of the country’s elections and preparation for the election of speakers and their deputies for both chambers

According to tradition, lawmakers on Thursday elected the two seniors, Abdisalam Haji Ahmed Dhaban-cad, the interim speaker of the Lower House, and Senator Mohamed Ali Yusuf Gagaab, the interim speaker of the Upper House, as interim chairpersons.

The two acting Speakers on Thursday jointly announced that the two houses would convene on Saturday to discuss issues surrounding the announcement of the bicameral commission.
