Security Forces to Enforce Banadir Sanitation Regulations
Somalia security forces have been directed to enforce Banadir Sanitation rules in order to make the capital a clean city.
Abdifatah Omar Halane the spokesman of Banadir regional administration has told the media that those dumping rubbish on the streets would not be tolerated any more . “From today no more dirt in Mogadishu, we directed all security forces to work with the Sanitation Department, and we would fine anyone found dumping rubbish”.
Besides the health hazards caused by the worst, it also has the potential of security threat as some dumping sites serve as places to plant land mines and other explosives by criminals.
There has been talk of cleaning the city and beautifying it by Banadir Administration for long time, but concrete steps are yet to be seen.
