Several Al-Shabaab Fighters Killed in Airstrike in Mudug Region
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MUDUG: Several Al-Shabaab militants have been killed in an airstrike about 40 km away from Harardhere in Southern Mudug region.
Military sources said the airstrike targeted the location where the militants were regrouping with intentions of planning attacks against civilians and government officials in the area.
The sources said several militants were killed and others wounded in the strike which is part of the federal government’s intensified operations against the group which has seen several of their bases destroyed in the past weeks.
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has vowed to wage total war against Al-Shabaab fighters and urge the Somali people to support the government’s efforts to eradicate the threat caused by the militants in the country.
