Several Displaced in Baledweyne after River Shabelle Burst its Banks
GOOBJOOG NEWS | BALEDWEYNE: Several people have been displaced at Baledweyne in Hiran region after river Shabelle burst its banks.
The floods have forced families out of their homes in Bundaweyne and Howlwadaag as water from the river breached banks, flowing to the nearby land.
Other areas which have been adversely affected by the floods are Doonsubagle and Farah Geri.
The latest floods has worsened the humanitarian situation in the area which is still recovering from previous flooding which displaced hundreds of families in the region.
Local authorities and humanitarian organizations are mobilizing resources to provide emergency assistance to the newly displaced families and have made appeals to local and international humanitarian organizations to dispatch much needed aid to the affected people.
