Six MPs elected in Barawe today
GOOBJOOG NEWS/BARAWE: The electoral delegates of South West have today elected six members of parliament in the House of the People of the federal parliament in Barawe.
The first seat, HOP#062, was won by Aweys Mohamed Omar after receiving 80 votes while his rival contender, Abukar Mohamud received 15 votes and 2 abstentions.
The second seat of Hop # 251, previously held by Muno Khalif Sheikh Abu (Munokey) was won today by her sibling, Nuuralcayn Khalif Sheikh Abu, with 90 votes while her rival, Faduma Abukar Sheikh received 8 votes while two voices were destroyed.
Mohamed Hassan Mohamed (Murjaan) won the third seat, HOP#195, after receiving 82 votes while his rival, Nur Ali Nur received 19 votes.
The fourth seat, HOP#187, was contested by two candidates, Nur Omar Aden and Dr. Ali Said Fiqi, (former Speaker of the South West State Parliament). Dr. Ali Fiqi emerged winner after receiving 80 votes, while Nur Omar received 16 votes.
HOP#057 seat was won by Muqtar Ahmed Hassan who received 87 votes, while Idle Ibrahim Nur received 7 votes, with 1 abstention.
The sixth and last seat, HOP#194 seat, was won by Hamza Said Hamza, the Somali Minister of Youth and Sports, with 83 votes, while his rival Qasaali Fiqi Abu received 12 votes.
The South West Administration has today completed the election of the House of the People for the second constituency in Barawe.
