SNA and Maawisley militia kill five Al-Shabaab militants in Hiiraan

GOOBJOOG NEWS|HIIRAAN: At least five Al-Shabaab militants were killed in fierce fighting between a joint offensive of Somali National Army and clan militia and the militant group in Hiiraan region Saturday morning.

A member of the Maawisley militia who spoke to the media said they killed five militants in Bero Yabal area in Bulo Burde district in Hiiraan region.

He said the joint forces attacked a gathering of Al-Shabaab in the area resulting in a heavy exchange of gunfire.

It was not immediately clear whether the Allied forces suffered casualties.
