SNA arrests mastermind of Qoryooley bridge explosion
Somali government forces have arrested Al-Shabab leader who is alleged to have been behind Qoryooley bridge explosion following security operations in Qoryooley town.
The spokesman of the Lower Shabelle administration, Mohamed Shiine who spoke to Goobjoog News said that the security operations conducted have netted several suspected Al-Shabab members including a group commander and bomb expert who blew up the town’s bridge two months ago.
“The forces arrested several people and more importantly the man who was responsible for the destruction of Qoryooley bridge,” said Shiine said.
He added “Our intelligence in the town got the information that the man was living in the town and we carefully monitored his house, by the time we confirmed he was in, we launched a raid and arrested him.” He said.
Al-Shabab blew up two bridges in Qoryooley and Janaale towns in a bid to cut off supply and reinforcement from AMISOM bases in the towns.
