GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia’s army chief has visited wounded soldiers receiving treatment at a Mogadishu hospital, reviewing their medical care and hearing about their needs.

Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud, commander of the Somali National Army, visited Rajab Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, formerly known as Digfeer Hospital, where soldiers injured during security operations are being treated.

The army chief spoke with the wounded troops about their condition and medical needs and expressed his support for them, according to the military.

He also visited children receiving treatment at the hospital and spoke with doctors and hospital management about their condition, offering encouragement to the children and their families.

Hospital management briefed Ibrahim on the medical services provided to patients, including wounded military personnel.

The visit comes as Somali forces continue security operations against Al-Shabaab in several parts of the country, with military casualties requiring medical treatment and rehabilitation.

The army leadership said supporting wounded personnel and improving their access to medical care remain part of broader efforts to strengthen the welfare and readiness of the Somali National Army.
