SNA forces kill 14 Al-Shabaab militants in Baidoa

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BAIDOA: At least 14 Al-Shabaab fighters were killed in a major military operation on the outskirts of Baidoa, South West state.

Somali National Army said the force attacked an Al-Shabaab hideout in Makude area located 7km south Baidoa inflicting casualties on the militants.

The operation follows the announcement by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in mid-March that the campaign against Al-Shabab would now move south starting with South West state.

SNA forces alongside clan militia have captured several towns and villages in Galgadud, Mudug, Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan regions in the last seven months.
