SNA kills 25 militants in Bakool region- minister

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BAKOOL: At least 25 Al-Shabaab militants were killed in a military operation in Bakool region on Tuesday,  deputy information minister Abdirahman Yusuf Al-adala has said.

State-owned news agency SONNA quoted Al-adala saying the Somali National Army killed 25 militants in Wajid area of Bakool region in South West state as they attempted an attack on the soldiers.

The reported killing comes a week after the Defence headquarters said 200 militants were killed in various parts of the country within a period of one week.

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility Monday for a suicide bomb attack in Jalle Siyad military academy in Mogadishu which claimed about 30 soldiers.
