Somali Forces Liberate Key Al-Shabaab Stronghold in Middle Shabelle

GOOBJOOG NEWS | JOWHAR: Somali National Army (SNA) troops, supported by local militia forces, have retaken control of Masaajid Ali Gaduud in the Middle Shabelle region, where Al-Shabaab militants had been encircled, military officials said.
The large-scale operation, involving both air and ground offensives, inflicted heavy losses on the militant group, according to the sources.
Officials said a full report would be released once the operation concludes.
The offensive is part of a broader government campaign to reclaim territory from armed groups and restore stability.
Since President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud declared an “all-out war” on Al-Shabaab following his election, Somali forces and local militias have intensified operations, reclaiming several strategic areas from the group.
