Somali government condemns attack at an ATMIS base in Bula Mareer
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has condemned the terrorist attack on an ATMIS Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Bula Mareer.
In a statement, the Federal Government said it sympathizes with the People and Government of Uganda, the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) and the Somali National Armed Forces for the attack that killed an undisclosed number of its soldiers at a military base manned by Ugandan troops.
The statement added that the attack will not deter the Somali National Army’s resolve to continue its war against the militants and completely push them out of the country so that the people of Somalia can enjoy lasting peace and stability.
“The Federal Government of Somalia appreciates the efforts of all its partners and the unity showcased during this incident and this culture of cooperation and coordination between all stakeholders will definitely yield the desired end state which is Somalia free from the scourge of terrorism’’ the statement reads in part.
It adds that the Federal Government of Somalia will continue working closely with international partners and intensify efforts to ensure the Somali stabilization process is successful.
