Somali Government Deploys Additional Troops to Counter Al-Shabaab Attacks

GOOBJOOG NEWS| MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has reinforced its military presence in the Middle Shabelle region to combat recent attacks by Al-Shabaab militants.
According to sources familiar with the operation, additional troops have been deployed to key frontlines, including Cadaan-Laxeey village and Ruunnirgood district.
The reinforcements include special police units from the elite Haramcad division, backed by local Macawiisley forces, as they intensify security efforts and counter Al-Shabaab’s movements in the region.
This operation underscores the commitment of both the federal government and the Hirshabelle State Administration to escalating military campaigns against Al-Shabaab in Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan.
The Somali government has reiterated its determination to continue relentless offensives against the militant group, targeting areas long under their control in a bid to eradicate Al-Shabaab from the country once and for all.
