Somali Government Repartriates 24 Citizens from Tunisia

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The federal government of Somalia has facilitated the safe return of 24 young people, including an infant who had been stranded in Tunisia.

The government stated that the individuals were rescued from the notorious Magafa groups operating along the Tunisian coast.

The President’s special envoy in charge of immigration and children’s rights, Mary Yasin Yusuf, emphasized the Federal Government of Somalia’s commitment to repatriating Somali citizens who have fallen into the hands of gangs exploiting migrants.

The Federal Government of Somalia expressed its gratitude to the European Union for funding the implementation of this repatriation program.

The government also acknowledged the contributions of other organizations that facilitated the successful return of these young individuals.

This initiative underscores the Somali government’s dedication to safeguarding its citizens and addressing the challenges faced by migrants stranded abroad.
