Somali Government Successfully Repatriates 109 Citizens From Yemen
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The federal government of Somalia has successfully repatriated 109 Somali citizens, including minors from Yemen, marking a significant milestone in the Somali government’s ongoing efforts to repatriate its nationals stranded abroad.
The returnees arrived safely at Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport Tuesday in an operation, facilitated by the Somali government in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Government officials warmly welcomed the returnees, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to ensuring their safety and Somalia’s effort to address the plight of displaced citizens.
The government officials stated that efforts are underway to provide immediate support and long-term assistance to the returnees and ensuring sustainable solutions for displaced citizens.
