Somali MP gunned down in Mogadishu

Gunmen have shot dead a member of Somali parliament in Wadajir district of Mogadishu as he was driving in the area.

The gunmen blockaded the MP’s car and opened fire, killing MP Abdullahi Hussein Bantu and his body guard on the spot.

The MP was newcomer to parliament and has only taken oath last month as he replaced his father, the former veteran parliamentarian Hussein Bantu who died on natural courses.

Somali government has yet to make arrests about this killing.
