Somali parliament Speaker jets off to Baqdad to Attend PUIC conference
A delegations of MPSs led by Somali parliament Speaker, Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari Saturday jetted off to Baqdad, Iran where they will attend the 11th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).
Jawari and his delegation were welcomed at the airport by leaders from Iraq government.
This event is scheduled to take place on January .25, in Baqdad town, according to statement of PUIC Executive Committee.
Parliamentarians from 48 member parliaments, including Iraq’s Parliament Speaker led a parliamentary delegation to the meeting.
Established in 1999 on the initiative of the Islamic Parliament of Iran, the PUIC seeks to strengthen parliamentary cooperation among Islamic countries in order to find solution for the challenges facing the Islamic world through parliamentary approaches.
