Somali president meets AU envoy

Federal Government of Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has received the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia and Head of AMISOM, Ambassador Maman S. Sidikou at his office in Villa Somalia on Monday.
The president and Sidikou discussed wide range issues including how the Federal government of Somalia could implement federalism in the country which is crucial for 2016 vision and other issues.
President Hassan has underlined that the federal parliament, other government departments and the civil society are taking initiatives to steer the nation reach vision 2016.
“From next year, some of the civil society will take part the steering wheel decision of the country”
Sidikou welcomed the progress on political stability and noted the key victories Somali National Army backed AMISOM troops.
“The international community will support Somali government to rebuild the nation” he promised.
