Somalia, Ethiopia Pledge Stronger Ties as Ethiopian Ambassador Ends Mission
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia and Ethiopia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening good-neighbourly relations and regional stability as Ethiopian Ambassador Suleyman Dedefo Woshe ended his diplomatic tenure in Mogadishu.
Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali Dhaay received the ambassador for a farewell meeting marking the conclusion of his assignment.
The minister commended Suleyman for his contribution to strengthening the longstanding ties between the two neighbouring countries and wished him success in his future responsibilities.
Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation on peace, stability and shared interests in the Horn of Africa.
The diplomatic engagement comes as Somalia and Ethiopia continue efforts to manage their bilateral relationship and strengthen cooperation on regional issues.
Stable relations between the two neighbours remain important to security and economic cooperation across the Horn of Africa, a region facing persistent political and security challenges.
The meeting marked the end of Ambassador Suleyman’s tenure but also reaffirmed both governments’ stated intention to maintain dialogue and cooperation.
