Somalia, OIC Reaffirm Cooperation as Regional Mission Chief Ends Tenure
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation as the head of the OIC Regional Mission in Somalia, Ambassador Mohamed Bamba M. Boba, concludes his tenure in Mogadishu.
Somalia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hassan Mohamed Ali (Nadaara) received and bid farewell to Boba during a meeting at the Foreign Ministry, where the two discussed relations between the Somali government and the OIC.
The officials highlighted the Islamic ties and solidarity linking Somalia with OIC member states and discussed the organisation’s role in supporting Somalia’s development and humanitarian priorities.
Hassan thanked Boba for his service and contribution during his time in Somalia, while welcoming the continued role of the OIC Regional Mission in supporting the country’s development efforts and responding to humanitarian needs.
He also wished Boba success in his future responsibilities.
The OIC has maintained a regional presence in Somalia as part of wider efforts by the organisation to support the country’s political, development and humanitarian priorities.
